Analyzes plans, specifications, proposals and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects or services by performing the following duties.
Responsibilities/Duties
Tracks and orders plans for potential projects to bid.
Attends pre-bid meetings and prepares appropriate questions for owner to clarify proposal issues.
Assists in coordination of plan deposits, bid bonds, and bid proposals preparation.
Plans bidding strategy to meet Owner DBE/MBE/WBE requirements.
Analyze pre-bid project activities for compliance with government regulatory or other governmental agencies (i.e. OSHA, NC DENR, etc.)
Prepares and assembles detailed estimates by completing takeoffs and reviewing specifications for accurate proposals.
Assembles crew sheets with the proper labor, equipment and production. • Prepares subcontractors and suppliers lists
Generates subcontractors scopes of work.
Calls in necessary locates for review of existing utilities before bid.
Coordinates with all necessary personnel to complete any necessary exploratory digging.
Completes post bid review and provides project manager with information on subcontractors and suppliers in post bid meeting.
Leads transitional meetings
Required Qualifications
Education/Experience: Bachelor’s Degree from 4-year college university or four to five years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Licensing/Certifications: OSHA 10 required. All applicable safety training provided by T.A. Loving Company.
Skills, Knowledge and Ability: Knowledgeable with the processes and procedures of utility construction. Familiar with software programs such as Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, Power Point, and Outlook preferred. Must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.
